Alicia Keys was promoting her album “Santa Baby” with a chic appearance on “The Late Show With Stephen Colbert.” The singer was seen at New York City’s Ed Sullivan Theatre in two distinct outfits.
“Santa Baby” is Keys’ first Christmas album and her debut project as an independent artist, following the end of her RCA Records contract. Outside the theatre, she donned a dazzling gold bodysuit paired with a large white fur stole. Her hair was styled in an updo, and she accessorized with silver earrings—one shaped like a key and the other like a carabiner. Completing her look were shimmering gold boots.
After her interview, Keys exited the theatre in a different outfit, a cropped silver sequined top under a black sequined coat. Her hair remained in a tight ponytail, and she wore a large green ring on her left hand. She rounded out the ensemble with black wide-legged pants and silver sequined heels.
Beyond her album, Keys also made news for her comments about working with Jay-Z again after their 2009 hit “Empire State of Mind.” Reflecting on their collaboration, she wondered if the song’s success made it hard to replicate.
Another headline related to Keys came when she was rumored to have canceled a performance at the FIFA World Cup in Qatar at the last minute due to creative differences, not the country’s human rights controversies. Other artists like Rod Stewart, Shakira, and Dua Lipa reportedly declined high-paying offers to perform.
