Alicia Keys and Swizz Beatz are reportedly selling their property to make room for their expanding art collection. The couple, parents to Egypt and Genesis, are listing their 5.2-acre estate for $14.9 million to accommodate their growing collection of artwork.
According to TMZ, they are looking for a new residence for their affectionately named “Eight Acres of Showtime,” moving away from their current 8-bedroom, 20-bathroom mansion in Englewood, New Jersey. This impressive property features amenities such as a cinema, indoor pool, bowling alley, elevator, and fitness center, and it was previously owned by Eddie Murphy, who also included a recording studio for their music careers.
Swizz, whose real name is Kasseem Dean, has developed a strong interest in art, showcasing pieces from his collection at the SCOPE art fair in Miami Beach in 2014. Their collection reportedly includes valuable works by artists like Andy Warhol, as well as pieces from up-and-coming artists.
In a conversation with Vulture magazine, Swizz shared how his relationship with Alicia and his passion for art led him to invest in interior design and artwork. He sought guidance from experienced collectors like David Rogarth, who advised him on the significance of patience and timing in curating a timeless art collection.
Married since August 2010, Swizz and Alicia welcomed their first child, Egypt, just two months later.
