Angelina Jolie was spotted mingling with a notable singer. The Oscar winner posed with Alicia Keys at the after party for the Broadway musical adaptation of The Outsiders at Cipriani 42nd Street. Jolie’s daughter, Vivienne Jolie-Pitt, was also present.
Jolie shared with Extra, “Viv ended up more with Justin than with me, so as you can tell by choice of attire, which team she’s on… She’s on the music, writer, and greaser team,” referring to Justin Levine, who did the book and score for the show. Jolie praised the cast, saying, “I love them and I admire them. They are an extremely talented, brilliant, kind group of people.”
Jolie also revealed she designed some of the looks for the show, including Justin’s outfit, and said she enjoyed the process. Additionally, she mentioned that Vivienne proved to be a “tough assistant,” taking her role seriously and often correcting Jolie.
Jolie noted that Vivienne, a fraternal twin to son Knox, is the biggest theater enthusiast in the family, a sentiment echoed by Justin Levine. Jolie expressed her excitement for the musical’s Broadway debut, saying she hopes to contribute while continuing to learn from the talented team.
The Outsiders, previously adapted into a critically acclaimed 1983 film by Francis Ford Coppola, is based on the 1967 novel by S.E. Hinton. Jolie and Vivienne were involved with the production after seeing it at La Jolla Playhouse. Jolie attended the New York premiere with her son Pax Jolie-Pitt donning a shimmering gold gown and rust-hued cape.
Pax exuded cool with his relaxed style, while Vivienne wore a stylish blue boiler suit, joining her mother and the cast on the red carpet. After the show, the trio headed to Cipriani for dinner.
