Adrian had the chance to sаy goodbye to Mohamed Salah and Kostas Tsimikas during Liverpool’s preseason friendly against Real Betis.
Unlike Thiago and Joel Matip, who were officially bid farewell at Anfield at the end of the season, Adrian’s departure was more subdued. His move to Betis was a free transfer, and while Liverpool had offered him a new contract, he chose to leave quietly.
Despite his low-key exit, Adrian had the opportunity to reconnect with close friends Salah and Tsimikas before their teams faced off in Pittsburgh on Friday night. The two Liverpool players warmly welcomed their former teammate at their hotel.
Adrian expressed his gratitude to Liverpool, saying, “I want to thank Liverpool for the chance to stay at the club. However, I had to seize the opportunity to return home.”
He added, “The train only passes once, so I had to catch it. I had a fantastic five seasons at Liverpool, and I wаnted to show my appreciation to the fans.”
Adrian, who spent 15 years with Betis before moving to England in 2013, signed a two-year contract with his former club.
