Manchester City continued their pre season preparations against AC Milan in New York and suffered a second successive tour defeat.
Pep Guardiola’s side were beaten 3-2 by the Italian outfit, following on from a 4-3 reverse in midweek by Celtic. It means seven goals conceded in two games as a youthful defence shorn of pretty much all of their first choice defenders were ruthlessly exposed.
City’s touring squad has been bolstered by the arrivals of Josko Gvardiol and Mateo Kovacic who have now linked up with the Blues. Gvardiol was a late substitute against Milan while Ederson started in goal and Erling Haaland and Jack Grealish were the star attractions at the other end of the pitch.
Haaland and James McAtee got City’s two goals but they weren’t enough to hold on. Attention now moves to the upcoming games against Barcelona and Chelsea in the States before the season curtain raiser against Manchester United in the Community Shield. Guardiola’s men then start their Premier League campaign against Chelsea at Stamford Bridge.

Full Time City 2-3 AC Milan
There we have it, another defeat for City on their US tour.
Oscar Bobb looked very bright and Erling Haaland got on the scoresheet, but City were too casual with their defending and a double from Colombo turned the game round. They battled back into it, with a flash of brilliance from Micah Hamilton teeing up James McAtee to head home.
it wasn’t enough though with AC Milan re-taking the lead in the closing statges and holding out for a 3-2 win. City are next in action on Tuesday night when they take on Barcelona in Orlando. Thanks for following along with us!
