Barcelona Optiмistic About Key Forwɑrd’s Return Aheɑd of Nɑpoli Showdown

Barcelona is gearing up for a crucial clɑsh against Napoli this Wednesday, with potential consequences for Xavi Hernandez’s tenure as the coach.

Barcelona's Portuguese forward #14 Joao Felix (C) and teammates attend a training session at the Joan Gamper training ground in Sant Joan Despi, near Barcelona, on January 30, 2024. Only a few months after lifting the Spanish title, Barcelona coach Xavi Hernandez dramatically announced he would walk away from the club at the end of the season. After Villarreal stunned Barcelona on January 28 with a 5-3 win which left the champions third, and 10 points behind La Liga leaders Real Madrid, Xavi said he was stepping down in June.

Following a victory against Celta Vigo in their recent La Liga match, Barcelona faces Napoli at a time when the Italian side is not enjoying a strong run of form.

While Felix is unlikely to start, his potential inclusion in the squad could provide Barcelona with a valuable attacking option off the bench. Despite other notable forwards like Ferran Torres being unavailable due to injuries, Pedri is expected to start as a false winger, supported by Christensen, Gundogan, and Frenkie in the midfield. However, the final lineup may also see Vitor Roque on the wing. Unfortunately, Ferran Torres is ruled out for the match, as his return to action is not expected in time for the Napoli encounter.
