Trent Alexander-Arnold expressed that assisting individuals impacted by Liverpool’s escalating homelessness crisis was an obvious decision for him.
This morning, the West Derby football player was present at the Whitechapel Warehouse, a facility associated with the Whitechapel Centre.
Accompanied by volunteers and staff at the Whitechapel Warehouse, Trent Alexander-Arnold, along with Liam Robinson and Metro Mayor Steve Rotheram, aided in packing eмerge𝚗cy parcels for nearly 2,000 households.
The attendees formed a conveyor belt, packing essentials such as clothing, gifts, vouchers, hygiene products, and certificates into gift bags for distribution across the city.
In the midst of an “unprecedented” surge in rough sleeping, Cllr Robinson declared the situation an eмerge𝚗cy, urging the government for increased support.
Alexander-Arnold expressed his deep concern about homelessness, emphasizing its significant impact on the city’s residents and those close to him. He acknowledged that addressing homelessness is a crucial issue for the city, and organizations like the Whitechapel Centre are making dedicated efforts to tackle it.
In an interview, Alexander-Arnold stated that combatting homelessness is a “no brainer.” He had direct discussions with the Metro Mayor to explore ways he could contribute.
Despite assuming the role of Liverpool’s vice-captain last summer, Alexander-Arnold refuted the idea that his newfound passion for advocating social causes in the city was linked to his leadership position.
