Pedri has faced a series of muscle injuries over the last two years and is currently in the process of recovering to full fitness. In an interview with Ibai Llanos, he disclosed that former Barcelona captain Carles Puyol has introduced him to a fitness regimen to enhance his physical condition.
Puyol also grappled with injuries, especially towards the end of his career, leading to his retirement due to knee troubles. The former Barcelona captain has been observed attending the first-team squad on multiple occasions in recent years.
Expressing frustration with journalist Gerard Romero for reporting on his injuries, Pedri revealed his proactive approach to prevent future setbacks. He emphasized that he doesn’t dwell on the possibility of relapses when stepping onto the pitch.
“My inaugural season was extensive, playing 73 games. It may have taken a tŠ¾ll, but I was eager to conquer the world. While acknowledging the possibility of recurring injuries after the first, I am committed to physical and Š¼ental preparations to prevent it from happening again.”
“I’ve modified my diet and embraced pilates, a recommendation from Puyol. Despite misconceptions, it’s not limited to woŠ¼en; it’s an effective practice.
