Barcelona defender Jules Kounde’s residence was reportedly burglarized while he participated in the match against Villarreal on Saturday evening.
Despite Kounde playing the full game, Barcelona suffered a 5-3 defeat at home against Villarreal.
RAC 1 reports that Kounde’s home experienced a ‘robbery with force,’ but the specific items stolen remain undisclosed.
This incident marks the second time Kounde has been a victim of a home robbery, with the previous one occurring in April last year.
Kounde joined Barcelona in 2022, previously playing for Sevilla and Bordeaux. The French international has made a total of 67 appearances for Barcelona, securing the LaLiga title last season.
Following the loss to Villarreal, Barcelona manager Xavi announced his departure from the club at the end of the season.
The match itself was highly eventful, with Barcelona initially leading 3-2 in the closing stages, only to ultimately lose. Villarreal’s goals from Gerard Moreno and Ilias Akhomach put them ahead, but Barcelona responded with strikes from Ilkay Gundogan and Pedri, along with an own goal from Eric Bailly.
Despite Barcelona’s efforts, Villarreal leveled the score with a goal from Goncalo Guedes and secured the victory with goals from Alexander Sorloth and Jose Luis Morales.
