Matic was assured by Rennes’ administration that the best learning environment would be set up for his kids. However, recent reports suggest that Rennes did not have a school, leading to the frustration of the former Chelsea player. His decision to move to Paris with his family and head to Rennes central station has intensified his discontent.

The former Serbian footballer, once a prominent player for Chelsea and Manchester United, is now likely to take a plane to London, England, where his family has a home, according to Ouest-France.

Nemanja Matic gained prominence in the Premier League while playing for Manchester United and Chelsea. The 1988-born player won the Best Serbian Player of the Year award in 2014–15 after a significant contribution to “The Blues” national title.

Matic left AS Roma in August 2023 to join Rennes in a two-year, 2.5 мillion euros contract. The 35-year-old midfielder has made 19 appearances in all competitions since the start of the season, providing three assists.

Matic has had issues with Julien Stephan, the coach, and Florian Maurice and Bruno Genesio, who had persuaded him to travel to Rennes, have both departed the club.
