Mason Greenwood donned unique, previously unseen multicolored Nike boots during Getafe’s match against Espanyol, despite lacking any current sponsorship agreement.

Returning to a reminiscent 2016 vibe, Mason Greenwood showcased the special edition “What The” Nike Mercurial Superfly IV in Getafe’s recent Copa Del Rey victory over Espanyol.

Without an existing sponsorship deal, the English striker enjoys the freedom to choose his boots, and for this particular game, he opted for a limited model launched in 2016, commemorating the first 18 years of the iconic Nike football boots.

Earlier this year, Nike officially confirmed the absence of a sponsorship deal with the forward, cutting ties in February 2022 following his arrest on suspicion of attempted rɑpe, ɑssɑult, and coercive behavior.

Although the allegations were subsequently dropped, severing any connection between the sportswear conglomerate and the former England international.

Throughout the season, Greenwood has been a pivotal member of Getafe’s squad, contributing significantly. Following a remarkable 12-0 victory over CF Tardienta in the first round of the Copa del Rey, the striker scored twice. In La Liga, the Manchester United loanee has also netted three goals.

Despite a red card against Rayo Vallecano, Greenwood participated in the Copa del Rey round of 32 encounter on Saturday, as the red card decision was later overturned. The team is now preparing for the upcoming rounds of cup action.
